We are scouting the area around the Grace School for about 1/4 - 3/8 Acres of land on which to build the first community. The land must be fairly level and free of obstruction. It must be accessible to sewage and electrical services. Water may be optional as wells may suffice. The Communities will be named "Succoth" from Genesis 33:17 "And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him a house, and made booths for his cattle. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth."
Plans are being made to house the first families. Each dwelling will have a single entrance, a common room, and two bedrooms. Homes will share common walls with other units to form a protective perimeter with the trade (Dairy, Chickens, Bricks) in the common central area. A road in and out will allow service trucks to pick up dairy, fertilizer, eggs and chickens, or bricks, and make deliveries.
In working with Victor Samuel and Wassem Samuel, it was determined that three primary trades would prove most viable. First is dairy. A central open barn could facilitate many dairy cows/calves and a couple of bulls. in addition, manure can be sold as fertilizer. A second trade would be brick making. Using better technology, over 6,000 bricks may be made in an 8-hour day by four people (one eighth the time of making them by hand). Thirdly, Chickens/Eggs. Humanely raised, these could provide nutrition and income. In all cases, their former work day of 16 hours would be dramatically reduced.
In addition to the Barn (for dairy), another set of buildings provides a kitchen, calving pen, sick pen, dairy processing area, tool shed, first aid station, feed storage, child care, chapel, etc.
Imagine your whole family working 16 hours a day making 1,500 clay bricks by hand, 7 days a week for $1.50 per day. You starve when it rains or grows to cold to work. We have included a community area where, after a hard ~8 hours work day, they can relax and spend family time, maybe laugh again and enjoy each other's company.
Rise up for quiet time and then herd the cows in for milking. Clean, feed, and milk the cows. Kids go off to school. A service picks up the milk. The cows are groomed and released to the open outdoor areas. calves are released to feed from their mothers. Breakfast. The pens are cleaned. The manure is collected for pick up by a service for fertilizer. The milking equipment is cleaned. Lunch. Training & education. Kids come home from school. The process repeats itself in the afternoon for non-nursing cows. Calves are separated from their mothers for the night. Families gather for supper and relaxation. Go to bed for an early start the next day. Of course, there will be births, vet visits, etc. Also, time for Bible Study and Prayer throughout the week and worship service on the weekend.
Rise early for quiet time and to wet the bricks. Breakfast. Kids go off to school. Sand, Cement, and gravel are prepared and placed into the mixer with water. When sufficiently mixed conveyor belt carries the concrete to the brick machine. The brick machine can stamp 6-12 bricks every 30 seconds by an experienced operator. The bricks, for example, stacked, cured, and then transported to sell or clients. Lunch. Training & education. Make more bricks. Families gather for supper and relaxation. Go to bed for an early start the next day. Time for Bible Study and Prayer throughout the week and worship service on the weekend.
Rise early for quiet time. Collect eggs, feed, and water the chickens. Clean and prep eggs for breakfast/sale. Put chickens outside. Clean the chicken coop, and repair nests. Lunch. Training & Education. Some eggs will be incubated separately. The manure is collected and prepped as fertilizer. Bring the chickens inside for the evening and collect the manure from outside. Families gather for supper and relaxation. Go to bed for an early start the next day. Of course, there will be births, vet visits, etc. Also, time for Bible Study and Prayer throughout the week and worship service on the weekend.
